16 Weeks

September 27, 2011

WOW 16 weeks. It is amazing how time is flying. I receive weekly emails from BabyCenter.com. I wait eagerly every Tuesday waiting for the new email to show up in my inbox. I found this photo on Baby Center and just think it is too neat.  When I stop and think about it I cannot believe that 2 tiny babies are growing inside of me. Jason and I have received such a special blessing from God. I don’t think I actually, completely believe it. I mean I know my body is changing and I am obviously growing but I still don’t think I believe such a wonderful miracle has happened to me.  God is so good.

Over the past weekend, we worked around the house in preparation for the Gender Reveal Party, which is in 11 days. YAH!  We invited our families and close friends (friends from our wedding party) to the reveal. Jason started staining the front doors on Saturday and instead of a weekend project, it has turned into a week project. Poor guy- I am such a work horse. I will post before and after photos when he is finished.  Each night this week we have plans to tackle different areas of the house.

My pregnancy is going well. I still feel like my heart is pumping extremely fast or missing a beat at times. My rate has been around 105 but gets in the 130s at times. The doctor assured me that I am fine as long as I am pain free. As far as my appetite it does not exist. Up to this point I have gained a whopping 8 pounds. I keep trying to eat a lot but food is not appealing to me. I still don’t have any cravings which is strange for me. I have more cravings when I am not pregnant than when I am- LOL But overall I am feeling good; I have the aches and pains associated with pregnancy but nothing major.

This is the first photo Jason took that I didn't edit.
It looks like he was taking the picture of Bailey and forgot about me. LOL
I am meeting with the baker today to discuss the cake design for the party.  The invitations have a small bird nest with two eggs so I am going to use that theme for the cake. I will post a separate post of the big Gender Reveal! I am so excited and can’t wait.

MSU Tailgate

So it has been 1 1/2 weeks since my last post. I don't know why but it is so hard to find the time to sit down and blog for me.  This past week was very busy for us.  Last Tuesday, mom called and informed me that dad was on his way to the emergency room due to chest pains. Of course we were all so scared- a week ago he had 3 stents inserted so we didn't know what was going on. He stayed in MICU for 2 nights and they performed another heart catherization to make sure the stints were not blocked. Fortunately everything was fine, they just adjusted his medications and he was released on Thursday morning.

Since dad was okay, Jason and I decided to keep our original plans to go the MSU/LSU game in Starkville. We were sad to go without mom and dad.  We left early Thursday morning and met our friends in Starkville at Mugshots for lunch.  It was so nice to be back in Starkville. Starkville just always feels like coming home. It is a special place for Jason and I both.  Below are photos from the weekend and tailgate.

On Friday, Jason and I drove to Woodland, MS to a furniture storeroom to look for cribs for the babies.  They had the most beautiful cribs but only a few were within our price range.  It is a much more expensive when you buy everything in pairs but I am so fortunate to have this opportunity (I'm not complaining- I promise).

We worked around the house on Saturday and I went shopping Sunday afternoon with Mrs. June, Aunt Lisa, and Cayce. It was really nice to spend some time with them.  While shopping, we discussed baby names.  Every name that I seem to love, Jason doesn't and visa versa.  Cayce decided to help us name the babies. She made a list and reviewed it with Jason but didn't have much success.

Here are the names that are currently on our list:
Boys Names: Foster Michael; Foster Thomas; John Michael; John Paul; Chase; Glavine; Grayson
Girl Names: Ann Marie; Carrie; Lucy; Lexi; McKayla; McKenna; McKinley; Mary Kate; Emma; Anna Kate

On Thursday, my mom called me with some bad news.  My cousin Brooke who was 5 weeks ahead of me in her pregnancy lost her sweet baby, Joshua Nathaniel Eaton.  She was 20 weeks pregnant. I can't imagine how she and her family feel. I have been thinking and praying for her constantly. I can't imagine if I lost either of our babies right now.

Football/Birthday Celebration

Tuesday, September 13, 2011
I can’t believe that I am now 14 weeks!! YAH! I nausea is slowly beginning to fade away. Yesterday I only took 1 Zophran and today I haven’t taken any. I feel a little sick but I am hoping I can stay off the medicines.  I’ve been eating a lot of fruits so hopefully that is helping and drinking a lot of water (or at least trying to drink a lot of water). Our babies can now squint, frown, pee, and suck his thumb. It is unbelievable. Below is a photo of my belly bump at 13 ½ weeks. The babies are the size of a lemon this week!

We had friends and family over for the MSU- Auburn Game this past Saturday. I was confident that we were going to win. Unfortunately we did not win :0( the score was 34-41. It was a huge disappointment and was such a close game.  Below are photos of the day.

I love game day food

Jason bought me a b-day cake from Anderson's YUMMY!

On Saturday afternoon, I felt like my heart was beating out of my chest. I took my heart rate and it was 120 which is higher than normal. I laid down for a little while which helped settle it out.  On and off over the past few days I have felt it racing. I talked to Mrs. Marilyn and she told me that it is normally related to dehydration so I have been trying to drink, drink, drink! I had a lot of back pain yesterday and the day before but I not sure if that is related to the babies or the fact that Keira and I shopped in Mobile too long on Sunday. Today the back pain was gone but I now have sharp, shock-like pains in my lower abdomen.  Haley assured me that it is normal and called round ligament pains. I guess it is something new every day with pregnancy!

31st Birthday...where did the years go?

Thursday, September 8, 2011
So today is my birthday! I am 31 today and can’t believe it. It seems like every year passes by so quickly. I can honestly say that I am at a very happy point in my life- probably close to the happiest I have ever been. I am married to a wonderful man, have an unbelievable family and support group, I love my job, and I am soon going to have 2 sweet babies to love on. I just don’t think I could ask for anything more in my life… in my eyes my life is perfect!

Jason cooked me a wonderful breakfast this morning. I leave the house at 6am so he was up really early. Then at work, the guys bought me 2 birthday cakes. They are so thoughtful.

I met Jason and Mrs. June at her house for lunch. It was really nice to catch up. Tonight mom and dad are coming over to have dinner with us to celebrate. Jason is going to pick up hibatchi for dinner.  We decided not to go out to dinner because dad needs to take it easy…which is another story.

About a week ago dad mentioned to me that the doctor wanted to perform a heart catheterization due to his elevated Cardiac Smart Score. The Smart Score is a test that can help predict the likelihood of having a heart attack by measuring the buildup of plaque in the coronary arteries, the most likely cause of a heart attack. He told me not to worry it wasn’t a big deal and he should be fine.  His heart cath was scheduled for Wednesday, September 7.  I was a little concerned but knew he needed the test. Mom took off work to be with dad.  I kept in communication with mom during the procedure which seemed like forever.  The doctor finally came out to report on dad.  He said that they asked dad if he wanted bypass surgery and he denied it… mom was in awe. Remember we didn’t think there was an issue.  Well the doctor proceeded to say that they installed 3 stints and the blockage was 90%, 80%, and 40%. We couldn’t believe it but are so fortunate that it was found and dad didn’t have a heart attack.  He stayed in the hospital that night to keep a close watch on him.

I have been thinking about him a lot and praying that everything will be fine. We were not prepared at all for the outcome of the test. Dad seems to be doing well- I don’t think it has slowed him down much which worries me. I wish he and mom would just take it easy and rest more. But I guess we all need to rest more. Dad is on a strict diet and has to exercise daily- we will see how that goes. We are just so fortunate  that he is okay.

13 Weeks

Tuesday, September 6th
Today was our monthly visit with the doctor.  I was so excited all day about seeing our sweet babies on the ultrasound.  The nurse took us back and mentioned that we would not be having an ultrasound today. I was so mad! I said yes we are Dr. Vice told me that we would have an ultrasound at each monthly appointment. She put us in a room and said she would check with the doctor. The doctor calmed me down and said yes you can have an ultrasound. I don’t think I could have waited another month to see our sweet babies!! I guess I am a crazy lady! The babies each measured 13 weeks and 6 days although I am only 13 weeks. I gained 7 pounds since the last visit- I was very happy about that.  The x-ray tech guessed the genders of the babies. She said she wasn’t for sure but kind of thought she knew the genders but that is a surprise to share later. Let me just say I hope her prediction was correct.

Mom and dad came over after the appointment to see the pictures of the babies which I posted below. The babies were 13w0d

Labor Day Weekend= Tropical Storm

Sunday, September 4, 2011
So much for a sunny Labor Day Weekend… Tropical Storm Lee decided to move in on the coast on a holiday weekend.  The wind has been blowing and it has been raining since Friday. I am sure Jason is getting stir crazy but I have used the weekend as an excuse to get the house cleaned and organized.  I was off on Friday so I moved all of the hand me down maternity clothes to my closet. I am so fortunate to have such wonderful friends to let me borrow so much. I actually decided to get rid of 4 bags full of clothing since I haven’t worn it in such a long time. It feels so good to have that mess cleaned up.

We also cleaned out the purple room (i.e. office/junk room) and it is ready to be painted.  It is going to be the guest room and the guest room will become the baby nursery. I am so happy to start making some progress. Mom is riding over to help with the trimming so Jason can roll the walls. Hopefully we can get a couple of coats on today so I can set the room up tomorrow.  I will post before and after pictures soon.

On Saturday, Kevin, Keira, Kale, and Kamryn spent the day with us. It was really nice to spend the day with all of them. I can’t believe how big Kale and Kamryn are getting- they grow too fast.  Keira helped me pick the paint color out so we will soon see how we did.   Jason cooked us dinner on the Green Egg. The ribs were perfect.  It was a nice relaxing day.  Keira did let me practice being a mom a little- I burped Kamryn and changed 1 diaper! I sure do have a lot to learn.

On Monday, Jason finished painting all the trim in the bedroom. I am so excited to start moving the furniture in. Dad and I went to Lowe’s and purchased blinds for the bedroom and looked at trim for the nursery. I can’t wait to get started on the nursery. Jason and dad moved all the furniture to the room and hung the curtains- the room is now completed. Yah! The rainy holiday weekend was a success in my mind.
Almost finished with the trim
