24 Weeks Happy Thanksgiving

I love the foliage this time of the year!

I was scheduled to go for my 24 week ultrasound on Tuesday but I was having really bad lower cramps so I called and changed my appointment to Monday.  Everything looked great on my u/s. My cervix was fine so I guess the cramps were just growing pains. I am overly cautious but want to be safe.  The babies both measured the same and both weighted 21 ounces (1 pound 5 ounces).  They are really starting to grow.

While performing the u/s, the u/s technician decided to see if she could get a glimpse of their faces in the 4D view. She was successful with Anna Kate but not with Foster.  I was so excited that tears came to my eyes. I am still in awe that 2 tiny babies are growing inside of me. I still can’t believe that I am going to be a mom.  Anna Kate is perfect!! I can’t wait to see my sweet baby in real life. I go back to the doctor every 2 weeks for ultrasounds to make sure everything is still good with the babies. So we will see if Foster will make an appearance in 2 weeks!

I wish I could add a drum-roll noise!! LOL

I am excited that this will be a short week at work due to Thanksgiving. I love the holidays and this time of year! I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving.

What am I thankful for:
I have so much to be thankful for. I am so, so thankful for my amazing, supportive husband. I cannot imagine my life without him;  my wonderful family and friends- I have an unbelievable support group in all aspects of my life; and right now I am most thankful for the 2 little miracles God has blessed us with!

So long Starkville

New football player in the fam
So this weekend was our last trip to Starkville until next year when we will be parents.  We had a great time over the weekend with my parents and friends.  The weather was perfect for tailgating. MSU played Alabama at 6:45pm.  MSU ended up losing 24 to 7. In my opinion we could have won but we didn’t- we just made a lot of mistake.  We drove up Friday after work and it seemed like the longest trip ever! After the ride up and back I knew for sure that this would be my last road trip until the babies arrived.  I was miserable and found out long car rides are tough on pregnant women.  No matter how I positioned myself, I just couldn't get comfortable. I also stopped by the Lodge while in Starkville and bought the babies their 1st Cowbell!

Jason and I took a photo with Bully. Hopefully it will be a picture that the babies cherish even though their momma looks like a wild woman.

In honor of Veteran's Day
We visited with our friends that live in Starkville- they are moving their family to Washington State. We look forward to seeing them each time we are in town- they are going to be missed. I guess we will be planning a visit to Washington in the near future.

I always love this presentation with the huge flag

22 Weeks Preggo

I am behind on my posts due to severe back pain and writing thank you cards. There is just not enough time in the day to do everything that I want to do.  I have been in a lot of pain in the middle of my rib cage on the right side. I went to the chiropractor twice this week to see if that would help- it has offered some relieve but only for a short period of time.  Besides that everything else is going well.

I went to the doctor this week for a checkup. The babies each weighted 1 pound and measured about the same (one was 22W0D and one was 21W6D).  My cervix looked good which I was worried about due to cramping. It is so relieving to know that everything is normal.  The doctor didn’t see a medical reason that I couldn’t go to Starkville to the MSU football game.  Jason was thrilled by that news but he thought the doctor would release me since he is a MSU graduate. :0)

Jason and mom finished painting the nursery.  I can’t wait to put everything in it and start the decorating!! Oh- I forgot to add that the babies are really active and I love the way it feels when they move around.

Family Baby Shower

Christina and Tim flew home on Friday from Washington, DC.  I haven’t seen them since August, which seemed like forever.  It was so nice to see them and show off my belly bump.  Actually I’m not sure if you would consider it a bump at this point- it is more of a mountain!

My sister, Christina, and Jason’s Aunt Lisa hosted a baby shower for me at my parent’s house on Saturday, November 5th.  It was so nice to visit with our families and close family friends.  The food was wonderful and it was so fun to share the excitement of
becoming a mother.

I took several breaks between opening gifts. I have never been so tired from just unwrapping presents. I think this pregnancy is starting to take a toll on my energy level. Everyone was so generous to Jason and I.  Thankfully, Cayce assisted me with the gifts and the twins helped with the opening.

The Itch @ 21 Weeks

So I have been asked by several of my friends if my belly has started itching. I reply no I use Bio-Oil 2-3 times a day so maybe that is helping to prevent itchy skin.  Well I was so wrong- the itch arrived today and in a huge way. I was sitting in a training class and wanted to just scratch constantly. I'm not sure what causes it but it was so uncomfortable!! Besides the itch everything is going well. I get tired fairly easy and have aches and pains but nothing unusual.  Overall my pregnancy is going great.  I have gained a total of 20 pounds which is on target with the book I am following. I still don't have any cravings and get full really, really easy. Several nights I just skip dinner because I am still full from lunch. I included some bare belly photos below because the others just don't do the belly justice. IT IS HUGE! It is so funny because strangers will ask when I am due and I reply March 13th-- you should see their faces.

My favorite thing about being pregnant is feeling the sweet little kicks. I just love laying in bed and waiting on a gentle kick. I am so happy to be a mommy and am so in love with these sweet little babies.

Over this past weekend, Casey and Mrs. June, my mother-in-law, came over to help Jason paint the nursery and make Halloween cookies.  We had a great time baking cookies. The cookies turned out pretty "SCAREY!" as you can see :0)

On Saturday, my dad and Jason started the moulding in the nursery. I am so excited and can't wait to get it completed.  The moulding was dad's gift to us.  I love the way it turned out!! Below I included photos to track the progress. The nursery colors are cream and white so it will be neutral.  Jason and his mother caulked and painted all day Sunday.  I didn't realize the woodwork would be so much work.  Poor Jason was exhausted by Sunday evening! If you are wondering where my mom was- she was at home sick. She didn't want to be around me.

This weekend my sister and Jason's Aunt Lisa are hosting a family baby shower for me. I can't wait. It will be my first shower.
